Inexpensive all-in-ones in the
Epson WorkForce 310 All-In-One's price class have traditionally been aimed primarily at home use. The reason for this is simple, it's hard to build an AIO for that price with both speed and output quality suitable for business use.
Pros:
- Ethernet connector
- Fast printing speeds
- Standalone copier and fax
Cons:
- Low paper capacity
- No Wi-Fi or autoduplexer
The WorkForce 310's print quality is good. Text is very dark and highly legible, though the characters are somewhat sloppily formed. We did note a significant difference between Draft and Text mode, not only in print quality, but quietness: Draft mode is very noisy. In the Text & Image mode, business color graphics looked excellent, with good saturation and brightness, even on plain paper.
Epson's WorkForce 310 offers great performance and good output that puts it at or near the top of its class. But if you want or need more printing horsepower, such as auto duplexing, true Wi-Fi connectivity, and memory-card slots, you'll have to shell out bigger bucks to move up to the next class of AIOs.
